Fire Emblem Heroes was launched earlier this month in Android and iOS app markets and it’s already creating a bit of noise online. In Fire Emblem’s first appearance on mobile phones, you take the role of Summoner and “call upon Fire Emblem heroes throughout history”.

This includes those beloved characters from Fire Emblem such as Binding Blade, Fire Emblem Awakening and Fire Emblem Fates. This time round on mobile phones, the battles take place on an 8×6 grid which is cleverly adapted to fit smartphones. The gameplay is nice and smooth with minimal lagging and whilst you don’t get a great deal of high-end visuals it’s not really about that. The classic feel of this game is what is likely to make it so popular, whilst there’s now the opportunity to upgrade your hero and summon additional heroes to supplement their army.
