Valkyria Chronicles: New lease of life

Some games fall by the way side. It is only natural given the sheer volume of games that release on an almost daily basis, but occasionally gems slip away into obscurity. Valkyria Chronicles was almost one of those games. From SEGA, the game released exclusively on Playstation 3 and failed to set the world on fire, spawning two sequels that only appeared on the Playstation Portable and were pale imitations of the original.
Years later SEGA announced that Valkyria Chronicles would be releasing on the PC. After observing the successes of several other high profile Japanese franchises (like Final Fantasy) and some smaller games, they decided to take a risk. Only it turned out to not be one at all; the game has sold over 500,000 copies on the PC since launch and made SEGA their money back within a few hours of release. Proof, if proof was needed, that releasing your games on PC is usually a good idea.
