Pure Chess on the Playstation 4

Posted on July 28, 2014 at 3:46 pm

It’s not exactly a game that will be making any headlines and it certainly doesn’t stand a chance of making its way into the charts but Pure Chess is a game that’s a lot better than it sounds.

It sounds like a boring game of chess, and well that’s exactly what it is but for chess lovers it’s a bit of a masterpiece. The graphics really are amazing and he pieces look extremely lifelike. You may think, “Well, I can play chess on a board and that is lifelike” and while that’s true you’re not able to challenge people from around the world.

Billions of people have played chess but not many people can call themselves the Grandmaster. Enjoying the classical game on a big screen is different, it’s modern and it’ intriguing. People of all ages can play this game, and sales may pick up when the price tumbles slightly, but if you’re into action shooters then this probably is not the game for you.

The Dramatic change in Video Game Graphics

Posted on July 13, 2014 at 2:24 pm

When you stop and take the time to really think about how far video games have come, it’s quite absurd. In the last 20 years games have gone from non-colour displays to those with colour screens, touch screen controls and no physical controller at all in the case of the Xbox Kinect, but perhaps the graphic improvements are more impressive.

There will be games that we used to be astonished by, perhaps Grand Theft Auto Vice City, but now if we look at this game it would be fair to say that the graphics are poor. Every new version of a game released tends to have improved graphics, but we’re now seeing clearer changes on the Xbox One and the Playstation 4.

Graphics only continue to improve and it’s hard to predict what video games will look like in 10 or 20 years time but it’s an interesting development and we’re an extremely lucky generation to be able to experience these improvements.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II – An Unforgettable Game on the Xbox 360

Posted on July 4, 2014 at 12:43 pm

There are many titles out there that were extremely popular but one of the most impressive titles to come to Xbox 360 consoles is Call of Duty: Black Ops II. This game was a big improvement upon the first Black Ops game and it is still played now, which goes to prove its success.

Like all of the other versions it is a first-person shooter and it is now the ninth Call of Duty release. It has a futuristic setting, and not all fans appreciate that but it only took an hour of playing to see that it was a wise decision. The storylines came with more options than before; in fact it is the only COD game to have multi-choice options.

This game will probably go down as a cult classic, especially on the Xbox 360 where millions, if not billions of people played the game on a regular basis. The online competition was immense, and we’re sure it’s a game that will played for many years to come.
